The smile on your face is getting wider and wider, and your anticipation is slowly but surely growing out of control. So board your plane, make yourself comfortable, shut your eyes and dream of all the adventures that await one last time before they finally become reality!
Either you were so excited about what's to come that you woke up before you landed or you dreamt all the way to the airport. In either case, as you roll down the runway, look out the window and see the city getting closer and closer, you're definitely wide awake.
If you want to gather your strength for the adventures to come, you'll have no problem doing it here. Settle in at your accommodation in peace and quiet and recover from the journey in – a beautiful view guaranteed. And if you're still far from tired, then dive right into the city to get a taste of its hustle and bustle and find the perfect place for a bite to eat!
You've surely already seen the city's iconic landmark, the imposing Petronas Towers. But if you want to head to the top of the world's tallest twin towers and walk across the Skybridge, it's best to book a ticket in advance – they sell out fast! Be sure check out the Sri Mahamariamman Temple, too. It's one of the oldest Hindu temples in the country and bursting with colour and all kinds of details – definitely a vibe you'll want to experience! Afterwards, with the city's must-sees all checked off, it's time for the must-dos. And come evening, the street food scene bursts into life. First stop: Chinatown! On Petaling Street, you'll find dumplings, satay and even more goodies. Then it's on to the trendy Bukit Bintang district, where endless shopping opportunities and next-level snacks await. Still not tired? Then take in the views from the nearby Heli Lounge Bar – a helipad that transforms into a rooftop bar. Cheers to that!
Wake up and get prepped! Today, you're heading from Kuala Lumpur to Melaka. Take public transport (payable on site) to the bus station, and make sure you plan in plenty of time. Once you board the long-distance coach, make yourself comfortable and enjoy the view of the passing landscape.
Did you know that Melaka is on the UNESCO World Heritage List? The Portuguese, the Dutch and the British have all left their footprints in these streets. The result is a colourful mix of cultures that you'll want to explore right after checking into your hotel. And Jonker Street is the best place to start. From Chinese antiques to Malaysian street food, there's all sorts of things to discover here. And in the evening, the street turns into a bustling night market. So make sure to come back later! Next stop: Harmony Street. Here, you'll find the colourful Cheng Hoon Temple – one of the oldest of its kind in the country. And in the Old Town, the city's colonial heritage is particularly splendid. Drift through the streets and soak up the magic of Melaka!
